Last month I gave you some ideas for your Christmas fundraising – there’s still time for you to get going so check them out here! I also wanted to give you some inspiration for that post-Christmas lull, so you have plenty of time to get prepared and get your friends, family and colleagues excited for your fundraising!
You’ve cooked enough to feed an army and have more left than you can possibly contend with. What to do? Invite all your friends over for a second Christmas dinner of course! You can throw all your leftovers together for a dinner party, with a small entry fee/donation bucket for your event sponsorship.
With everyone stocking up for Christmas, and then frantically running to the shop to make the most of the Boxing Day sales, you’re likely to have lots of shops in desperate need of bag packers and helpers. Why not get a group of friends together to bag pack with collection buckets on the till?
New Year’s resolutions
With the 1 January fast approaching, it can be great to set a New Year’s Resolution that will get people sponsoring. Maybe you want to do the event in fancy dress? Or do an alcohol-free January as part of your training? The world is your oyster!
Approach the local press
What you’re doing to help beat blood cancers is so important, everyone in the local area should hear about it! Our Press Team has lots of advice about the best way to go about getting in touch with the local media.
Burns Night Supper
Looking ahead, it’s Burns Night on 25 January, so what better way to celebrate than a traditional Burns Supper? You can charge a small entry fee, treat your friends to all the Scottish delicacies we know and love, and hold a Scottish-themed fancy dress competition with a prize for the best outfit!
Event time sweepstake
As many of you will have a time/PB that you’re hoping to smash on Race Day, why not get your colleague to bet on it? Download our sweepstake form and get people guessing for an entry fee!
Have a happy holiday season, whatever you get up to. If you need any materials, do let me know before 10 December to make sure they’re with you before the New Year!
Happy Holidays everyone!
