Well with just one week to go things are getting worrying. I am actually not feeling as dead when I return from my training rides, and the rides asre getting faster as well! I have just got back from cycling to Guildford (it was practically guildford anyway) and back again. I only missed the very last hill climb into Guildford as I knew we would have a huge hill to climb coming back along with all the rest. I ended up doing 20.57 miles which is my longest yet, with an average speed of 12.55 mph with a total climb of 1192 ft.
This brings the total training miles to 131.87 miles.
People had been telling me to get some road or hybrid tyres. I took the plunge yesterday and spent a small fortune in Halfords, but my god! what a difference it makes!! so much easier and a huge reduction in the rolling friction! I jsut wish I had listened to them sooner! hopefully these small improvements will enable me to compelte this massive challenge.
I shall be doing some last minute training this week so please dig deep all of you who havent yet and help me beat blood cancer! I have already raised enough money to support a research nurse for 3 days to help provide new treatments to blood cancer patients on a life saving trail? lets make that atleast 5 days!!
