Jo's Big Bike Ride for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research...

I guess firstly I should introduce myself...  My name is Jo and in 31 days I will take on a challenge that scares me every time I think about it, while being excited at the same time....  I am taking part in this challenge to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research... A charity close to my heart as I lost my Dad 10 years ago this year to Leukaemia and I couldn't think of a charity any more fitting to raise money for in memory of him... And to help support the fabulous work they do...

And so, earlier in the year I enrolled on the Cuban Revolution Cycle challenge with Charity challenge, it's a 350km cycle across Cuba in 6 days... For someone who hasn't ridden a bike since she was about 12 this is massive... ;D  for the past, what seems like forever lol, I have been cycling, spinning and doing Insanity training to get ready for this challenge.. I also took part in the 53km Cycletta at Tatton Park earlier in the year, my first challenge which was amazing and yes I cried when I finished.. Big softie lol...

Along side all the training, there has been the challenge of raising money through various charity events and sponsorship.  me and my little team of fund raising planners have baked cakes, organised a night of dancing to a Robbie Williams Tribute act, made jewellery and organised a charity race night all to raise money... I can't thank everyone who has supported me so far enough, people's generosity has been amazing and continues to be...

Just last week we held the Race night where we raised just under £1,100... Surpassing all expectations and sending me well over not only the required sponsorship but also my own self imposed target of £4,000... So why not set myself another target to reach now ha ha....

Anyway... There's my little introduction... Watch this space for my updates over the next 31 days and hopefully some updates while I am out there in Cuba...

There is more info on my facebook page - Jo's Big Bike Ride for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research
