As the leading UK blood cancer research charity, we continue to invest in groundbreaking research to most benefit those touched by blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Our approach to fundraising and marketing is incessant and determined, an approach that mirrors our determination to beat blood cancers by investing in the very best UK research.
Over the next five years we need to raise more than £120 million and everyone in the organisation is playing an active part towards this objective.
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research relies entirely on the British public to support our vital research as we receive no government funding. Every penny really does count and our income comes from a range of sources from high profile charity partnerships with well-known UK companies to thousands of dedicated supporters who organise and attend events up and down the country.
Current charity partners include DIY retailer Wickes. We have one of the biggest charity running teams, the running team is supported by TV Times. Our flagship fundraiser, the London Bikeathon is the capital’s biggest charity bike ride and we organise a further 25 cycling events throughout the UK.
Our celebrity supporters include Sir Ian Botham, Alastair Campbell and the Calendar Girls. And our online shop also contributes to our fundraising. Our tribute funds called Forget Me Not Funds are a special way for people to remember a loved one and are increasingly popular; legacies are also a big part of our overall income.
In spite of this impressive portfolio of activities and partnerships, we are always seeking new opportunities to increase awareness and maximise income for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
We are proud to be among the most efficient charities in the country and operate with a tightly knit team of c. 70 staff from our HQ in Holborn, central London. Around 190 Branches and fundraising groups also actively raise funds in local communities all over the UK.
