Staff at Banks Group, a property and energy firm based in the North East, choose Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research as their charity of the year in 2012.
Staff took part in a number of activities to raise funds, including workplace lunches, cake sales, taking part in the Bupa Great North Run, and Christmas fundraising.
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research were presented with a cheque £4,000 for the terrific total raised by staff throughout the year. We also received the fantastic news that Banks Group held a staff vote, and are continuing to fundraise for us in 2013!
Mark Dowdall, environment and community director at Banks, whose 12 year-old daughter Georgina has been undergoing treatment for leukaemia, says: “Our family is immensely grateful to all our friends and colleagues at Banks who have enthusiastically raised funds over the last year to support this important charity.
“We’ve seen at first-hand the challenges that face the families and children diagnosed with blood cancers who are being treated at the RVI. The improvements being made in their treatment regimens and outlook is amazing, but there is still so much to do to find kinder treatments with less severe side effects and to find successful cures for all blood cancers.”
A huge thank you to Banks Group for the total money raised, and for their continued support in 2013.
