Beefy's Great British Walk is being supported by some fantastic day sponsors.
Rob Burnett – Managing Director, Kaizen Group
"Kaizen have pledged a lifetime of support to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
In July 2007 my 4 year old son – Jack – was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Since that time Jack has endured treatment that has taken him to the edge of life and back again and yet through it all he remained happy and positive and determined to help other sick children . Thanks to Leukaemia & Lymphoma research Jack is now fully recovered and enjoying life to the full.
Kaizen Group have pledged to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research until a cure is found for all blood cancers and are proud to be sponsors of the Cambridge leg of Beefy’s Walk to Beat Blood Cancers in 2012."
Martin Simpson, Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust
"The Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust (LICCT) is always looking for new and exciting ways to get involved with local and national Charity fund-raising. Beefy's Great British Walk 2012 is seen as a great opportunity to both support a national event whilst getting lots of local shop teams in the Cambridge area involved. Many of our employees have children themselves and any initiative to raise funds to help beat childhood blood cancers will be passionately and enthusiatically supported by our colleagues."
Douglas McCrea, McCrea Financial Services
"McCrea Financial Services are delighted to be part of Sir Ian’s Scottish leg of his walk for such a fantastic cause. McCrea’s are heavily involved in sport and fundraising for many different charities in the West of Scotland and are more than happy to support Beefy on his fundraising. We obviously cannot promise tropical temperatures in April in Glasgow but the warmth of the welcome everyone will receive will more than compensate.
We look forward to helping raise a fortune for a wonderful charity."
Patrick Field, CEO, Hanover Search Group
“Having followed Sir Ian’s remarkable walk in 1985 and his subsequent outstanding efforts in raising in excess of £13m for this exceptional charity, the Hanover Search Group are privileged to not only be joining Beefy on the final day of his walk through London, but we have also made Leukaemia & Lymphona Research our corporate charity for 2012 and will be arranging a number of fund raising events to further support the charity.”
Chris Slater, Communications Manager, Pulman
"Pulman Volkswagen are delighted to be sponsoring Sir Ian's 2012 walk in Newcastle. The opportunity to be involved is such an exciting prospect, partnering the event in our local area is fantastic. We hope to be hands on and will use the day to involve members of our team to assist wherever possible. Pulman will also use all its communications channels to help promote the event and raise awareness of the fantastic work Sir Ian does for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research."
John Tordoff, Chief Executive, JCT600
JCT600 are proud to support the Leeds leg of Sir Ian’s 2012 Great British Walk. Our strong and well established links with the local community gives us a great opportunity to help raise the profile of the event and generate much needed funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, furthermore, we will be carrying out our own annual ‘Great Yorkshire Walk’ across the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in further support of what is an outstanding cause.
Beefy recruited Dave Roberts (or “Rooster” as he is known) to join him on his East Coast walk in 1988 to help look after him and raise funds and awareness for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The pair hit it off after meeting at Worcestershire County Cricket Club where Roberts treated Beefy after an injury. Roberts has been by Beefy’s side on all of his walks ever since.
