Sky Bet's Charity Challenge!

Sir Ian Botham had one mission: to raise a heap of money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research by backing winners as England aimed to become the best Test side in the world.

For a man who has walked thousands of miles for charity and trampled on his cricketing rivals it was a stroll!

As well as picking three bets for each of the series against Sri Lanka and India, Beefy put £225 on four separate bets for each of the seven Test matches.

During the course of this winter, Beefy called eight bets correctly as England retained the urn in style to secure winnings of £5,750 and raise a grand total of £10,750 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

That sum included a £2,500 pay-out after Beefy's pre-series prediction that England would win 3-1 - a scoreline he invested £250 in at 10/1 - came to fruition.

The former England captain added a further £1,554.56 to his winnings pot during the Sri Lanka Test series by calling four bets correctly, including England's staggering victory in the opening match at Cardiff.

Add the guaranteed stake of £1,000 per Test and Beefy's Bets grand total now stands at an impressive £15,304.56 - with the Indian Test series still to come!
