Getting quite excited as the Bikeathon approaches. Sadly, my training hasn't been as strong as last year due to greater work commitments. Nevertheless, I've still been able to do a few extended weekend rides in addition to my daily 20-mile commute. These culminated in the Stratford Tempest Sportive at the beginning of June, which was a 65 mile ride covered some parts of the 100-mile Bikeathon route.
To avoid some of the physical pain that I experienced last year, I've taken time to improve the fit of my bike to my anatomy. This has included a correctly sized saddle and slightly raised handlebar. These improvements should reduce fatigue levels and hopefully help me to improve my ride time to below 8 hours this year.
I'm hoping and praying for good weather for the sake of everyone's enjoyment - not just for sunshine but also for no headwinds!
