This Thursday evening (26th September) I'm excited to be attending ‘The Bigger Picture’ event at Jury’s Inn in Gateshead. The event is a chance for anyone who supports Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in the North East to come together and celebrate the progress we have made so far but also to plan for the future, where we can beat blood cancer entirely.
I’ll be talking during the evening about my own personal experience of childhood cancer and how I ended up being a leukaemia research scientist in Newcastle.
As a survivor of childhood leukaemia – it’s great to meet and chat to the children and their parents currently going through the same thing I did twenty years ago and hopefully give them a bit of reassurance that although it may not seem like it currently, their futures can be bright and unlimited by their early experience of cancer.
I’m really looking forward to meeting our supporters in the North-East, so if you are able to, please do come along and say hello and find out how we plan to carry on beating blood cancer in the North-East.
The event is at The Jury’s Inn, Gateshead from 6.30pm – 9.00pm and is free to attend. Please email Catriona at firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
