Added together blood cancers are the fifth most common type of cancer in the UK and the third biggest killer. There are also 230,000 people are currently living with blood cancer yet general awareness and understanding of blood cancer is very low.
We need you to help us raise public awareness of blood cancer and the support and information that Bloodwise can offer patients and their families by downloading our Blood Cancer Awareness Month posters and putting them up in your local area.
GP surgeries and hospital waiting rooms are obvious starting points but we want to get the message out as far and wide as possible from schools and libraries to coffee shops and local leisure centres – the more people who see the posters the better!
Alternatively you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll send out some posters and information booklets to you directly.
Don't forget to send us your photos!
To encourage interest in the campaign from the wider community and to recognise all your efforts we'd love for you to send us photos of your poster(s) that you’ve put up together to include in a Facebook gallery that we'll publish at the end of the month.
You can share your photo with us in three ways:
Upload the photo to our Facebook wall with a couple of lines about where your poster is and why you’ve put it up. For example:
“Putting up a Blood Cancer Awareness poster in my local Sainsbury’s in Tooting to help raise awareness of blood cancer and the support and information Bloodwise offer to patients for #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth”
Tweet us your photo at @bloodwise_uk using the #BCAM hashtag. Don’t forget to tag in a place if you can fit it in. For example:
“Raising awareness of #BCAM for @bloodwise_uk at my local @saisburys in #Tooting.”
3. Email us
Send your photo(s) to us at email@example.com along with a couple of lines about where your poster is and why you’ve put it up. For example:
“I've put up a Blood Cancer Awareness poster at my GP surgery in Tooting to help raise awareness of blood cancer and the support and information Bloodwise offer to patients.”
