Jane joins us to answer your questions and talk about her experiences with acute myeloid leukaemia

On Thursday 13th July Bloodwise Ambassador Jane Leahy is joining us to answer your questions and talk about her blood cancer experiences in our latest live patient Q&A on Facebook from 1 pm.

Jane was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in December 2014 and had to spend lots of the Christmas period in hospital away from her husband and young family.

Her initial course of chemotherapy was successful but Jane unfortunately relapsed in August 2015 having to re-start treatment which culminated in a stem cell transplant courtesy of her sister who was a 100% match.

Jane has had a lot of ups and downs since her transplant in February last year not least some quite severe chronic Graft Versus Host Disease which has manifested itself most prominetnly in her lungs and eyes. However this hasn't stopped her from doing everything she can to lead as normal a life as possible with her family.

Jane is also committed to doing everything she can to raise awareness and funds to beat blood cancer and has been an inspiration in her role as a Bloodwise Ambassador which most recently saw us deliver a brilliant talk about her experiences to students at her daughters' school.

If you have a question that you'd like to ask Jane ahead of the Q&A please email us at support@bloodwise.org.uk. You can read more about Jane's diagnosis and subsequent treatment in her brililant blogs in our patient community section. Here's a link to her profile: https://bloodwise.org.uk/people/janemcs
