Melody joins us to share her experiences and answer your questions about supporting a child through blood cancer and her experiences as a Bloodwise Ambassador in our latest Facebook Live Q&A

On Thursday 8th November Bloodwise Ambassador Melody Berthoud (pictured above with her son, Andrew) will be joinng us to answer your questions about her experiences of living with blood cancer in our latest live patient Q&A on Facebook.

Melody is the mother of Andrew Berthoud who was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukaemia on 3 October 2012 at the age of 3.

Two weeks in to term Andrew had not really settled at pre-school.  He was very tired, started to be sweaty at night and his pillow case was often wet in the morning. When he developed a spot on his side like a chicken pox accompanied a really high temperature that Melody decided enough was enough and decided to take him to doctor who then ran blood tests which revealed his leukaemia.

Andrew began treatment straightaway and in February this year was finally given the all clear after three and a half long and gruelling years of chemo. Andrew is now back at school and enjoying life again like all children should.

Melody is desperate to help raise awareness and is happy to talk about any aspect of Andrew's treatment, her role as a Bloodwise Ambassador or being the face of this year's Winter Appeal.
