Over 240 colleagues from Bluefin offices across the UK took part in six regional fundraising walks this July to raise money for the blood cancer charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Each of the 15-mile country walks attracted staff members, business associates and staff family members and took in sites of particular historical and scenic interest. As well as raising money, the Bluefin ‘Walk & Talk’ events allowed staff to network and meet colleagues from other offices.
It was not just another day in the office for Bluefin staff as they were given the day off to participate in the walks. The walks have raised over £6,500 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research so far.
John Simmonds, Chief Executive of Bluefin, took part in all the walks, clocking up over 90 miles in total. He said: “It was great to have so many enthusiastic staff taking part in all the walks, raising money for a very worthwhile cause. The walks were really special events and a wonderful opportunity for team building.”
Kate White, Director of Fundraising at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, said: “We’d like to thank everyone at Bluefin for their generosity in donating their time and money to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and of course all the walking they put in! The money they raised will make a real difference to the lives of patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.”
Bluefin have been fundraising for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research for over two years now and have already raised £80,000 for the charity.
They are aiming to raise £50,000 in this year alone. The six ‘Walk & Talk’ events took place in Whitbourne, Epping Forest, Surrey’s North Downs, Castle Howard, Tillingbourne and the Wye Valley.
