The past month hasn’t been very good but I’m feeling much better now after the weekend.
On the 24th June we went to a charity event and met Emmerdale and Coronation Street stars such as Joe Warren, who I had a game of football with, Chris Bisson, William Roache, Mickey North, Tony Hirst and I also met chat show host Michael Parkinson. I had lots of fun and Chris Chittell, Emmerdale’s Eric Pollard, made me laugh!
All the stars were really nice and they asked me questions like how I was doing and how long my treatment lasted. I sometimes think people seem shocked when I tell them 3 years because they don’t realise that I have to be treated for that long. They also didn’t think that I had to take oral chemo everyday.
Mum tells people all about the charity and how important it is to support it. Everyone was really kind. I told them all about Tatty Teddy and how you could buy them from Marks & Spencer and that the money went to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
The stars auctioned off their shirts for the charity and we got Bill Roache’s. Everyone seemed very caring about me and it seemed no trouble to have a picture with Tatty Teddy and me. I left feeling very happy but very tired from the afternoon.
