Calendar Girls: Thank you to everyone who joined us for this amazing show!

Over January and February this year Bloodwise have had the wonderful opportunity of offering free tickets to see performances of ‘The Girls’, a musical by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth based on the story of The Calendar Girls, to Bloodwise Ambassadors, Haemato-oncology healthcare professionals and blood cancer patients. This has been a moving and inspirational experience for Bloodwise and we hope that those of you who were able to come along to a show enjoyed it! We all had a great time, and it was fantastic to see so many of you there!

For anyone who is still looking forward to seeing the show, ‘The Girls’ tells the true story of a group of inspirational members of the Women’s Institute in Yorkshire who decide to raise money for a local hospital following the passing of one of the member’s husbands. Gary Barlow and Tim Firth’s musical retelling of this story is full of joy, sadness and hope – you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you'll go home with a huge smile at the end.

The show has now been running since the 28th February and is doing amazingly well, with most shows being packed out! So far, almost £13,500 has been raised for Bloodwise through donations at the shows and the sales of our merchandise on the stall in the foyer at each show which is a brilliant start to 2017. It’s a fabulous show and a must-see, so please keep spreading the word and tell all your friends and family we hope to see them at a show soon!
