Casey Bex (4) – will join Beefy on Saturday 21 April in London
Casey Bex was just a baby when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in January 2010. Her parents Bradley and Niki became concerned when they found unexplained bruising on their one-year-olds’ back and visited their GP. Casey was sent straight to Adenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge before being transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she is undergoing chemotherapy. Now aged three, Casey is due to finish her treatment in March 2012 and the family plan to celebrate by walking with Beefy.
Dad Bradley says: “We thought it was the end of the world – we didn’t know much about leukaemia. But Casey’s made excellent progress all the way through. She’s been unbelievable. I want to raise as much as I can to help other families and put something back.”
