Fundraiser Kevin Bates has raised over £3,500 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research since the death of his son Lee in 2009. Lee was acting sergeant in Stourbridge police and a much loved brother and son before he died of leukaemia.
Most recently Kevin organised a charity fun night to raise funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and Midlands Air Ambulance. Kevin raised over £3000 for the the two charities and hopes to continue his fundraising campaign to help beat blood cancer.
Nearly 200 people turned up to supoort the event, with an auction, raffle and live music making the evening a great success. Kevin said 'It was a very proud moment for me to achieve what we did in Lee's memory. It is my way of finding some comfort from a tragic event such as loosing a son.'
We are extremely grateful to Kevin for his support as without fundraisers like him we would not be able to continue our research into blood cancers includng leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
