Chelsea residents are invited to join original WI Calendar Girl Angela Baker and actress Patricia Hodge on Monday 6 December for ‘A Christmas Cocktail’ - a special evening of carols and cocktails to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

The festive celebration at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square will offer a glamourous twist to the traditional Christmas service, while helping the charity continue to support lifesaving research into all blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Angela, who together with her fellow Calendar Girls has raised more than £2 million for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and Patricia, a former star of the stage version of the ladies’ inspirational story, will be among a number of special guests to give readings during the service. Alongside traditional passages from the Bible, readings will be drawn from a wide range of sources, including poetry and prose.

Throughout the evening the congregation will be invited to lend their voices to those of the Holy Trinity Choir, and enjoy the musical talents of organist Andrew O’Brian and Jazz pianist Cosmo Cardozo – all of whom have donated their time free of charge to help the charity raise as much money as possible to beat blood cancer.

The service, which begins at 7pm, will be followed by a Christmas Cocktail reception in the Church’s stunning surroundings featuring glamorous drinks perfect for toasting the start of the festive season.

Claire Hoyle, Head of Special Events at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, says: "Join us for ‘A Christmas Cocktail’ and kick off your celebrations in style. With carols, cocktails and a special service it’s sure to be a wonderful evening, and every penny raised will help Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research find better treatments and cures for all blood cancers."
