i haven't been keeping up to date with my blog as too busy cycling. I rode 100 miles on one sat about 3 weeks ago and been out cycling various distances every week.( check my rides on Strava) Then everything literally came crashing down. My friends and i entered an organised bike event of 75 miles in Colchester on 25th july. The day before the weather was terrible. Anyway after 55 miles into the ride, I was at the front and suddenly a sharp right hand bend appeared. I took my foot off the gas, but didn't break in caseo of skidding etc.. next minute i woke up on the side of the rode. My back wheel apparently had slipped on some mud and gravel and I came off. Damaged ribs, knee etc.. was knocked out for a couple of mins, but worse of all, i've shattered my collar bone. I've been back and to to the hospital, they couldn't operate as i had a deep wound in my shoulder as well.So i'm back to hospital on tues 11th aug to assess me again. Hopefully i'll then have an op/plate fitted a few days later. So unfortunately made ride has to be cancelled. GUTTED!!! It's so frustrating but these are the hazzards of cycling hey. SO APOLOGIES TO THE CHARITY WHO I'VE BEEN IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH. THEY'VE BEEN GREAT WITH THEIR SUPPORT AND UNDERSTANDING. AND THE SAME TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONATED AS WELL. SO TO ALL THE OTHER PARTICIPANTS, BE SAFE AND ENJOY.
