Crazy Cuba cycle challenge complete!

Well last time I added a post, it was 31 days until I travelled to Cuba to cycle 300+ km to raise money for LLR. Now I've been back for 3 days after completing the cycle and having the most amazing experience.

The challenge was tough, 337 km in total across a variety of terrains in a variety of weather conditions. Cuba has some beautiful sights and scenery, and also gives you a glimpse into another world, where money is not plentiful but people go about their business knowing no different.

We started in Havana and cycled to Matanzas, Cienfuegos, into the mountains... Yes up hills!!! Boooo!!! And then onto Trinidad. In changing weather each day from 32 and 36 degree heat, to headwinds and then rain. A challenge that pushed me to my limit, but being stubborn I just kept pedalling! After all, I wasn't there for a holiday, I was there to raise money for the charity in honour of my Dad. And I am proud to say I did it. Just kept going.. And yes I would do it again...

So far my fundraising is pushing £5,000, having held a sponsored cycle at my daughter's school today, we can hopefully get over that milestone...

It's been an eventful year. Race nights, Robbie Williams Tribute night, cake sales and the like... Not to mention the training, but it was worth every minute, and I am very proud of myself and I am sure my Dad would've been proud of me too...

So for now.. In a few weeks when I have my final total, that will be it for this Challenge, but one thing is for certain in the not too distant future I'll be setting myself something equally as challenging in order to raise money for this amazing cause...

Thanks for reading... And if anyone would like to donate please do... Every penny counts..  Xxxx
