One of our priorities for 2016/17 is to develop a new research strategy to guide our investment in research and we want our grantholders to be part of the process. I want to hear what you think about the priorities for blood cancer research funding and the role that Bloodwise should play relative to that of other research funders, so I will be meeting as many of you as I can over the summer. Later in the year we will also begin to bring some small groups of people together to discuss some of our key areas of funding.
These discussions will be important both to shape our longer term thinking, and to help us decide our priorities as we begin to re-open some of our grant funding streams in 2017/18. We have over 200 grantholders, so it would be impossible to meet everyone and I have tried to meet a representative cross-section of the community. If we haven't asked for some of your time and you would like to talk to me we would be glad to hear from you - please contact Ellen. We are also adding in a new lunchtime session at this year's Grantholders' Day to provide an opportunity to share and discuss with you plans for research funding in 2017 and beyond – if you haven't already, you can register here.
