Last week I had the pleasure of meeting supporter Peter Fletcher from Arbroath and his friend Blair Fraser who is currently receiving treatment for Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. During the craze of the ‘No make-up selfie’, Blair took a selfie showing him with his medication tablets in a bid to raise vital awareness of blood cancers. What followed on Facebook was a surged of shares, to the point that Blair cumulated over 1000 shares!  Blair’s friend Peter wanted to do something about this and created his Just Giving page to raise vital funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. justgiving.com/petefletcherpose

Peter to date has raised over £500 for us through his Just Giving Page here and offline donations. Last week I visited them both at the Discovery Quay in Dundee for the cheque presentation. Peter is pictured in the middle with blood cancer patient Blair on the right. It was great to meet them both and Blair’s mum Lynn and it is just incredible to think that a simple selfie has over 1000 shares! Well done to them both and to Peter to raising an incredible amount to Beat Blood Cancers. Watch this space as Peter is planning a sponsored cycle in support of Blair!
