Dom lost his close friend Stephen Blears to leukaemia when he was 19. In 2010, Dom decided to do something to bring people together and beat the disease in Stephen's memory.

He founded the Mad Hatter's Challenge, a series of marathons, triathlons and other physical challenges for large numbers of people to get involved in, aiming to raise £10,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The Mad Hatter's Challenge smashed this target and raised over £15,000. As a result of this mammoth achievement, in 2012, Dom was one of our supporters who became Olympic Torchbearers:

But Dom's fundraising story doesn't end there. Inspired by the honour of carrying the torch, Dom launched a new Leading Light campaign, aiming to raise a million pounds for the charity before the Rio Olympics.

You can now sign up to run, cycle or swim with Dom to help him meet this mammoth fundraising target.

You can support Dom, sign up to be a part of Leading Light, and keep up with his blog entries via the Leading Light campaign pages.
