My visit to The Christie in Manchester.

I was fortunate to visit The Christie in Manchester yesterday along with fellow member of the National Cancer Advisory Group and was hugely impressed, encouraged and inspired by what I saw and heard. We had the opportunity to talk to some cancer patients as well as visit the new Teenage and Young Adult and Adult Haematology Centre and look down on the site of the UK's first Proton Beam Therapy Unit. Things are changing and improving faster and faster for cancer patients in the UK. It can never happen quickly enough but with world-class centres like Manchester leading the way and piloting new and better way to deliver patient services across the NHS I am positive about the future.
