We are very proud that GB Railfreight have nominated Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research as their Charity of the Year for 2014-15.
Founded in 1999, GBRf are a UK freight train operating company of 600 staff and 58 locomotives, transporting goods across the country for customers such as EDF Energy, UK Coal and Network Rail. GBRF’s vision is to set the standard of corporate responsibility for the rail freight industry, which they are already demonstrating through the partnership since its inception in August.
GB Railfreight have exciting plans to fundraise through collections during charity train trips, individual employee challenges, and have already completed a 130 mile staff cycle from London to Cambridge in September. Managing Director John Smith took part and entered into the charity spirit by wearing fancy dress for the 2 day journey.
The partnership will run until the end of September 2015, and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research will work alongside GB Railfreight hoping to raise at least £30,000 to help achieve our vision to beat blood cancer.
