It has been another busy 12 months for our TV Times running team who have taken part in numerous running events across the country, from Newcastle to Portsmouth.

The Silverstone Half Marathon opened events for 2013 and actors including Tony Audenshaw, Laura Aikman, Holly Davidson, Ray Macallan and John Michie all took part.

The biggest running event in the UK, the Virgin London Marathon, was attended by many famous faces from the TV Times running team. One of the many highlights from the day included BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell filming his running of the marathon using a hand held camera for the BBC website.

In May, 40,000 people packed the streets of Manchester for the Great Manchester Run. Those taking part for the TV Times running team included Life on Mars Actor, Dean Andrews.

As the running season drew to a close, two events took place in September – the Great North Run and the Great Yorkshire Run. The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world with over 50,000 competitors taking to the streets of the North East.

Tony Audenshaw ran at both events and helped launch the Great Yorkshire Run. He ran alongside fellow TV Times runners Dean Andrews, Liz Mcolgan and George Rainsford.

Emmerdale’s Chris Chittell braved blustery conditions in Portsmouth for the Great South Run at the final running event of the year. Chris has been taking part in the running events for more than 20 years!

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the events for their efforts and look forward to seeing them again in 2014.
