We held a very successful 'dress down day' in combination with a 'clothes drive' on Friday 29th March.
In the week before the dress down day we put posters up across all offices and publicised the dress down day and clothes drive - we had negotiated a sale to a clothes recycler with all money going to our fundraising goal for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Staff across all offices were keen to be involved in a spring clean of their winter clothes (before the summer weather hopefully appears) and people dropped off clothes throughout the week.
By Friday morning we were all ready with our collection buckets to collect dress down donations. The buckets did the trick and we received plenty of donations for dressing down and the clothes drive drop off points were bursting at the seams - pardon the pun - by lunchtime. At the end of the day we organised the bags of clothes and found some expensive pieces which we decided to sell separately on eBay.
All items were collected in Edinburgh and we had over 25 bags of clothes! Unfortunately I was on holiday so missed the handover to the recycling company but John stepped in and handed over the bags.
All in all the event was a great success and we made lots of money for Team Brodies and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. A massive thanks to all staff for getting involved and being so generous.
The next step for Team Brodies is a charity dinner to mark Impact Day for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
