Our Branch Secretary Hannah Dunkerley has been shortlisted for an award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
I nominated Hannah for the Charity Fundraiser Award as part of the Viking FM Future Star Awards earlier this year and was thrilled to receive a phonecall with the good news that she had been shortlisted!
Hannah has always been a key member of our team since the start of our journey five years ago, but over the last two years she has taken on much more responsibly when taking on the role of Branch Secretary in 2013.
Her dedication and commitment to the cause is outstanding and she has helped to drive and deliver projects that have allowed us to grow and reach more people; all of which wouldn't have been possible without her.
The Viking FM Future Stars Awards takes place on Friday 26th June at Oaklands Hall Hotel, Laceby. The awards recognise and celebrate young people who make Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire the unique, dynamic and inspiring place it is and celebrates young people whose achievements today will ensure they become the stars of tomorrow.
It's important to recognise people for their dedication and commitment. Most people only see the work that happens on the front line, but the reality is many hundreds of hours are spent behind the scenes to run an organisation of this nature, and without all of Hannah's hard work behind the scenes we wouldn't be able to raise the amounts we do.
The Charity Fundraiser Award is awarded to a young person who works tirelessly to help others and fundraise for good causes. Hannah is one of three shortlisted in the category with the winner to be announced at the awards ceremony later this month.
Congratulations Hannah, I'm so proud of you and all you've achieved! This award is the very least you deserve!
