Harlem-Shaking Off the competition

The Harlem Shake: ‘An eccentric upper body dance move that involves the shaking of the upper torso and shoulders.’

If you’re not already familiar with The Harlem Shake, it’s become the latest global dance craze. Beginning with a masked individual dancing alone and surrounded by people going about their daily lives, it suddenly cuts to a wild dance party featuring the entire group.

Now, several charities are Harlem-Shaking their way onto YouTube to compete in the Charity Shake Off. Mencap, the RNLI and Macmillan have all let their inner dancer loose on the world stage to stake their claim on the coveted title of Best Charity Shaker.

Yet we were quietly confident we could create our own version to be reckoned with. We knew that with a plastic reindeer head and an Elvis costume tucked away in the cupboard just waiting for their moment in the spotlight, we could create something special. And we did, transforming the London Office into Shake HQ:

Since the chair spins, head-banging and planking of yesterday, we’ve been challenged to create a Harlem Shake video that can get 3,000 views on YouTube. We’re delighted to say we’ve achieved the first part but now we need your help to achieve the second.

You can support the LLR Shake by:

  • Visiting Pledgeit & clicking 'pledge now' above. With your help we could even beat RNLI, Macmillan and Mencap in the #CharityShakeOff!
  • Sharing the video with everyone you know and encourage them to pledge, watch and share!
  • Using the #CharityShakeOff to tell all your Twitter followers how much you love the LLR Harlem Shake!

Let’s Shake Off the competition and help beat blood cancer!
