Day 6 Birmingham

The day got off to a painful start with 2 year old grandson Kieran waking up Grandad Beefy by grabbing both blistered feet and shouting surprise. A shocked Beefy sat bolt upright in bed to be greeted by an innocent smile. What better preparation for the 17 miles ahead?

Sporting support arrived in the form of Tim Henman, Geoff Thomas and Carl Baker who joined Beefy on his way from the centre of Birmingham up and out to Clent Hills.

As the sports stars dropped off Beefy kept up pace and was greeted in Clent Hills by a 30 strong bat salute including 18 cricketers from Worcestershire County Cricket Club along with Gordon Cowens, Assistant Coach at Aston Villa who offered his support to the walk since the diagnosis of Stiliyan Petrov.

Hamzah Sadiq, our Birmingham local hero, led Beefy and his crew in to the beautiful national park.

The walk ended brilliantly with a presentation of a very generous cheque from our day sponsor Prime Oak.

Off to Cardiff we go...
