Introducing 'Our Stories'

The Supporter Engagement Team at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research works at the heart of the fundraising team to interact and engage with our supporters. As the first point of contact for the organisation we take calls, answer emails and thank many of the generous donations we receive. Our work brings us into contact with some amazing fundraisers who have some truly inspiring stories; we often find ourselves very inspired as we share your letters and photos around the office. But we want to do more, we want to shout from the rooftops about the wonderful work our supporters are doing. We recently decided to harness the power of social media and digital communication to enable us to do this. We are therefore proud to debut a new series we call, 'Our Stories', which will be a series of guest blogs from some of our outstanding fundraisers. Each month, the Supporter Engagement Team will contact supporters to guest blog for us about their work. In this way we will not only be sharing stories of amazing fundraising around the office, but with the wider Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research community.

The ‘Our Stories’ debut guest blog comes from Annie Taylor. Annie’s son Oliver was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in 1978 when he was 5 years old. Sadly, Oliver lost his fight against ALL, but he accomplished some extraordinary things throughout his life. Oliver’s family has contributed to his legacy by continuing on with fantastic fundraising projects that are helping Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research on our mission to beat blood cancers. We hope that you will all find this family’s story as touching and inspiring as we have, you can read it here

We look forward to bringing more of ‘Our Stories’ to you throughout the year. Please do contact the Supporter Engagement Team on 020 7504 2215 or info@beatingbloodcancers.org.uk if you have a story that you would like to share, or if you know of anyone whose story should be shared.
