Join Leanne and her family for a day of Clay Pigeon shooting in Leicestershire in memory of John Palmer

On 16 April 2016, supporter Leanne Powell and her family are hosting charity clay pigeon shoot to raise funds in memory of Leanne’s father, John Palmer, who sadly passed away to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in July 2015.

Clay pigeon shooting was a favourite hobby of John’s so a charity 100 bird shooting competition is a fitting tribute to his memory. The event is to take place at Grange Farm Sporting Clays in Leicestershire and is open to experienced shooters and novices alike, with a ‘have-a-go’ stand available for first-timers.

The main shoot is £35 per person to enter, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes up for grabs. There will also be spot prizes and a charity raffle on the day, so all the family is welcome.

Throughout his illness, John was keen for the shoot to take place to raise as much money for blood cancer research. Leanne says: ‘My father asked me to organise a charity event to raise funds for leukaemia research whilst he was still in hospital receiving treatment. My dad had raised funds over many years for charities including LOROS (the hospice for Leicestershire and Rutland). My father had participated in clay shooting for most of his life and introduced me to the sport.’

If you would like to take part in the competition and support the John Palmer Memorial Clay Pigeon Shoot, please contact Leanne Powell at leanne4400@live.co.uk.
