John has been fundraising for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research for over 30 years, originally as a member of the Ferryhill Branch from 1981-1994, and then as a member of the Durham City Fundraising Group from 1994 onwards.

From selling thousands of pounds worth of Christmas Catalogue orders whilst working at Thorn Lighting in Spennymoor, to dedicating whole days raising funds through street collections, supermarket collections and table top sales, John tirelessly supports Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research in our work to beat blood cancers.

Catriona Tait, regional manager of our fundraising in the North of England, said: "John is such an inspiration. My Dad said to me the other day that it's thanks to people like John who never stop fundraising, that my Mum is still here today."

John carried the Olympic Torch in 2012 and was awarded a Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Certificate of Merit in Jan 2013.

Volunteering for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is a great way to support our work, and have great fun too! Whether you have a spare ten minutes or a day a week, find out how you could get involved.
