Bloodwise invited to the 2016 Just Giving Awards to support Young Fundraiser of the Year nominee, Ally Clift.

Followers of Bloodwise may remember that back in the summer one of our young supporters, Alasdair Clift took on the Tube Challenge in aid of Bloodwise. Ally sadly lost his older brother Adam earlier on in the year from Burkitts lymphoma and wanted to fundraise in his memory.

Ally planned and delivered the #WheresAlly Tube Challenge independently and set himself the modest fundraising target of £100. What followed was incredible. Ally's family managed to secure national and local news coverage and it was this, plus Ally's hard work, that earned him £35,000 in sponsorship on Just Giving and subsequently a nomination (and then Finalist) status for the Young Fundraiser of the Year at this year's Just Giving Awards 2016.

Well last night, Tuesday 22nd November, was the glittery night in question where all finalists were honoured at the awards ceremony held at The Brewery here in London and I was honoured to have been invited to join Ally, his parents, his aunt and family friend in the fantastic night of celebration.

There were over 55,000 nominations across the 10 categories and the finalists in the room alone had together raised millions of pounds in aid of their chosen charities - so we really were in the presence of heroes!

The amount of inspiration, passion and determination in the room came in bucket loads and from Bloodwise, we wanted to say a massive congratulations to all of the finalists in all the categories – especially Ally!
