This year the LBC 97.3 Help a London Child Appeal 2012, which runs from Monday 26 to Friday 30 March will be supporting three charities which help children with cancer - Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, CLIC Sargent and Fight for Life.

Every year around 1,500 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK – and over 40% of these children will have a blood cancer such as leukaemia or lymphoma. For families affected, normal life stops and a very different journey begins.

To be told that your child has cancer is a terrible shock and can test a family physically, emotionally, socially and financially. But more children than ever are surviving cancer and 90% of children survive the most common form of leukaemia.

Three children who have survived leukaemia are being featured on LBC throughout the campaign: Harry Crocker, 14, Oisin Coll, seven and Casey Bex, four. They all showed star quality when they went in to LBC to record promos and appeals.

As well as text to donate, LBC are auctioning some incredible money-can't-buy prizes to help raise vital funds for Help a London Child, including:
- A tour behind the scenes at Emmerdale
- A box for ten at Crystal Palace with Eagles legend Geoff Thomas!

You can support the appeal by bidding for some of our great auction prizes, donating via text or online at the LBC website.
