Get signed up for our first Ambassador training sessions in March!

Here at Bloodwise we are very keen to ensure that all our fantastic ambassadors are fully prepared and equipped to undertake all of the incredible work they do.  I’m sure you’ve all enjoyed reading through your welcome booklets which we send out to all new recruits for them to get a feel for the programme and the role played by both Bloodwise and you!

However we are about to take what we feel is a crucial next step for our ambassadors, and begin hosting more robust training sessions where you can meet your points of contact face to face, learn more about Bloodwise and perfect ways of talking to people about blood cancer so we can work together to raise awareness in the most effective way possible.  Alongside all this of course is the opportunity to meet some of your fellow ambassadors and share stories and experiences with each other.

We are starting with two sessions in March here at Bloodwise HQ.

These will be:

7th March: 10am-4pm

14th March: 10am-4pm

We’ll send out an agenda closer to the time, but the aim of the morning session will be to focus on the role of the ambassador, the role of the Bloodwise Team, and keeping yourself safe.  The afternoon session will be focussing on key messages about blood cancer and Bloodwise, and ways to effectively deliver these while raising awareness in the media, with key decision makers, in the community, and on social media.  In amongst all that, we’ll fit some lunch as well!

If you’re able to make either session, please email Afia on aboachie@bloodwise.org.uk to book your place.  If you have any questions about the day then do get in touch with any of the patient experience team on support@bloodwise.org.uk.

We are of course acutely aware that not everyone will be able to make the trip down to London for this, so we’ll be filming these sessions and making them accessible to the whole group.  Later in the year, we’ll be looking to pack our suitcases and get out for some face to face meet ups.

These will be our first sessions of this kind so we’ll be learning what works and what doesn’t work alongside you all!  I hope you’ll enjoy the sessions we’re planning, and find them valuable – of course we’ll be asking for feedback and evaluation throughout so we can develop and ensure they’re as useful and effective as possible to support you in all your hard work!
