London Bikeathon 2015: Why I got involved

Having lost a close family member and friends to leukaemia, I felt I could do so much more to raise awareness. Although I have donated to the charity, I saw the advert for Bikeathon and this made up my mind to do more to help.

Why Bikeathon?

I choose London Bikeathon because I don’t like to run... Lol? I am a keen cyclist, and the Bikeathon gave me the perfect platform to raise awareness about Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and enjoy the sights of London while raising as much money as possible at the same time.

My fundraising

What I would say to others to encourage fundraising is to not limit themselves to just friends and family for donations/sponsorship, but to be happy to talk to people about what a great cause this is. I found by just talking to random people about the Bikeathon, they are very keen to donate. As we know we Brits are renowned for our generosity especially when it is for a worthwhile cause.

We’d like to thank Moses and all our Bikeathon fundraisers for their amazing efforts! There’s still time to sign up for London Bikeathon on Sunday 16 August.
