From London To Paris

And so it begins...

My name is Michaela Dunn. I am 25 years old. I am a blood cancer survivor. On Friday, I had the honour of representing LLR at the Women's Tour. I presented the 'Best of British' jersey to Lizzie Armitstead. It was amazing. A year ago, I never thought I would be doing things like this but today there is no stopping me.

I was diagnosed last year, March 7th. It is amazing how much difference a year can make. While ill, I created a bucket list of things to do when I got better and on that list is to cycle from London to Paris on behalf of LLR.

This blog will document my journey. I do not even have a bike as yet, but I am of the view that if you can beat cancer then you can do anything. I hope that you will follow my journey and I hope to make fellow patients and survivors proud.

Hi Michaela,

Thanks so much for your blog. Absolutely fantastic to see you up on that podium representing us as someone in remission just a year after your diagnosis. As you say, what a difference a year can make!

London to Paris is a fantastic event and an amazing challenge to go for. I've got a bucket list, too, as a survivor and am sorely tempted to follow suit and join you next year!

I look forward to reading your blogs with interest - good luck with finding the right bike. Our bike guide should give you a decent starting point but might be worth you getting in touch with the cycling team to see what they advise as they have quite literally been there and got the t-shirt!
