Making a splash at the Blenheim triathlon

Last weekend saw the 10th Blenheim Palace Triathlon and arguably the most successful one to date. We witnessed some fantastic individual and team performances, many inspirational fundraisers, an LLR team relay victory and the debut of the Blenheim Duck!

To date, we have raised over £400,000 and that looks set to rise further! The weekend started off in dramatic style with thunderous downpours of rain. Thankfully this subsided and made way for blue skies and a stunning backdrop for what was an amazing weekend.

The key highlights include the stunning fundraising achievements of Scarlett's Dragons. The team had initially set themselves an impressive target of £50,000. They soon smashed this and they're now sitting at an incredible £100,000! It was heart-warming to see young Scarlett looking well and in good spirits as the team, headed by her father Dan Clarkson, completed the course in impressive style.

There were many more brilliant contributions, too many to mention here; but collectively everyone has helped to amass a total that means that the Blenheim Palace Triathlon has now raised over £1million since we initially partnered with the event back in 2004. An astonishing sum, that will directly help to fund lie saving research into blood cancers.

Last but not least; we have to give a special mention to the Blenheim Duck. Our inflatable friend flew into the UK on Monday and by Friday he was in prime position to witness over 6000 triathletes take on the triathlon.

If you have been inspired and would like to take on the challenge of a triathlon then sign up now. Places in the 2015 Blenheim Palace Triathlon are due to go on sale in October but you can pre-register now at http://www.theblenheimtriathlon.com/
