Mandy and Bruce Womack have volunteered for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research for over 32 years they host the Annual Tredegar House Rally and their fundraising efforts for has surpassed the £1million mark.
The £1million total is not only important for the continuation of ground-breaking research into blood cancers, but also for personal reasons, after Mandy tragically lost her son Timothy, aged just 6 years old, to leukaemia. Since then, Mandy and her husband Bruce have set their sights on raising as much money as possible to improve the outlook for blood cancer patients, and particularly children with leukaemia.
Michaela James, regional manager for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research's fundraising in Wales, said: "The event this year raised £51,600 alone for research in to blood cancers. This is a testament to the tireless work of the Mandy Womack MBE and her husband Bruce, as well as the 100 plus volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to making the rally a success year on year."
