Thinking I may have over committed myself!
Need to get some miles in if I'm going to ride more than my occasional 25 miles.

If it's any consolation, I haven't even bought a bike yet and have a dodgy set of lungs so you are ahead of me at the very least!
Good luck with the fundraising and thank you so much for all your support - it's because of people like you that I'm still here. Like your son, I had CML but have just passed 10 years in remission which is amazing. Really glad to hear that your son is through the worst and wish him all the best in his recovery.

Thanks for that. I've downloaded the training guide - need to plan it out on my calendar and start the regime! Looks daunting at the moment - but hopefully once I get into a routine I'll feel more confident :-).

Yeah I think getting in to a routine that you're comfortable with is crucial for momentum. Going to take the plunge and buy a bike at the weekend!
