Throughout January the team has been working hard building a robust strategy to raise our fundraising target. We're all off to London this week to impress the judging panel with our plans!
Meet the Team:
We are a team of trainee lawyers raising money to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research to beat blood cancer.
Lauren Dobbs - I decided to enter the Young Lawyers Enterprise Award in order to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research because leukaemia is the most common type of cancer to affect children: approximately 1 in every 2000 children will develop it. Although the outlook for children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is usually good, there is still a lot more to be done. Hopefully we can raise a lot of money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to enable their life-saving work to continue.
Emily Daniell - I'm really excited about this challenge - I think it's going to be a great experience for the five of us to get stuck in with project management and reach our big fundraising goal... and win the challenge! Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research is a fantastic cause which is close to my heart as a very close friend of mine is recovering from acute myeloid leukaemia and some family members didn't win the fight. I'm so pleased to have the opportunity to work with this charity and raise money that will really be able to make a difference and help beat these cancers.
Whatever we raise in this challenge will be brilliant, but it would be the icing on the cake if we were to win... and we're quite a competitive bunch. So please - follow our social media sites, keep up to date with what we're up to, get in touch and GET INVOLVED!
Dave Holt - I'm always up for trying new things and getting involved in challenging enterprises like this one. Previously I have ridden in a bike marathon for charity and a number of other events while I was at school and university.
I really believe in the cause we are fund-raising for; I lost a very close family friend to cancer around 2 years ago, and anything we can do to make a difference and help those who really need it must be a priority.
Emma Reid - The work that Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research does is critical in the fight to find a cure for blood cancers. I have already lost members of my family to cancer and last year had the sad news that another member has been diagnosed, so this is more than just a project for me, it's a real chance to support finding a cure.
I am lucky to be working with an enthusiastic, creative and hard-working team to achieve our fundraising goals. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and get in touch if you want to contribute to any of the events we are running!
Lauren Millward - We're planning a great range of events for everyone to get involved in so you can support us in anyway you can, whether it be cheering the team on at the 10km race and donating on our Just Giving page or attending one of our larger events (more details later - I don't want to ruin the surprise!)
