Winterton Show is always one of the highlights of the year for our branch, it's a great opportunity for us to catch up with supporters and share our latest news with local people, whilst raising vital funds to help improve the lives of the 38,000 people diagnosed with blood cancer in the UK each year.
One of the hot topics this year was our change of name coming into effect in September. We were thrilled to have such a positive response to this from people in our community who welcomed the change.
This year the show took place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July. We had our usual stand at the Cemetery Road side of the site, which included merchandise, tombola, kids games, handmade gifts and information about our work. Over the weekend we raised a total of £436.68 to help on our push to reaching the £100,000 milestone by the end of 2017.
We were also able to raise a great deal of awareness for our cause by handing out leaflets to those at the event, and encouraging awareness with children by giving them balloons and stickers.
Thank you to all those that took the time to come over to our stand to have a chat and donate. Thank you also to all the members of our fundraising team and Local Youth Development Program team who gave their time to make it possible.
