We’re very pleased to introduce our newest corporate partner, Marc Antoni Hair Salons, who proved that they’re a cut above the rest by cycling 500km on static bikes to kick start their 2015 fundraising for LLR.

Marc Antoni launched our new partnership in style with a 10 hour cycling stint outside their Bracknell Salon last Friday. The challenge marked the first of a series of fundraising activities they are planning this year, including an upcoming raffle, competitions, treatment promotions and even rumours of a sponsored body wax! All 5 of Marc Antoni’s family-run business of hair salons will be getting involved in charity events across the Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire areas, with the aim of raising £15,000 to help us beat blood cancer. On top of this, the four Marc Antoni brothers and managers are gearing up to take part in our London to Paris cycle in September - we are delighted to have the team on-board.

The cause is very close to the hearts of the Marc Antoni team as Simon Giamattei - one of the four brothers and Director of the business - was diagnosed with Leukaemia in February 2013. This came as a huge shock to family and friends, and although 2015 marks the beginning of our official partnership, the team have already been working hard to raise money and awareness for LLR since Simon’s diagnosis. In 2013 Marc Antoni entered a team of 26 into the London Bikeathon, and staff, clients, suppliers and friends have also donated generously through sponsorship and raffle prizes. Simon has said that it is now his turn to give back and help others for the future, and will keep supporting LLR to raise awareness of the importance of blood cancer research and support.

Thank you to Marc Antoni for all your efforts so far and we look forward to seeing what this year will bring!

Here’s the Bracknell team enjoying the ride – with not a hair out of place!

What a fantastic way to start the parnership! Thank you to everyone involved in the cycling challenge - as a blood cancer survivor myself I cannot tell you just how thankful I am to fundraisers and volunteers as they've helped the charity raise the money to fund the research that saved my life.

I look forward to hearing more about Marc Antoni's upcoming fundraising projects and will have to look to get a haircut if I'm ever in the Berkshire area!
