We’re delighted to announce that British Cycling, the national governing body for the sport of cycling, is proudly supporting our London and Birmingham Bikeathons in 2014
This support for Leukaemia & Lymphoma's Bikeathon events is a fantastic opportunity for us not least because British Cycling really believe in supporting and encouraging everyone from those picking up a bike for the first time, right through to professional cyclists riding hundreds of miles at a time. It’s a perfect match because that’s what Bikeathon is all about; enjoying the ride and feeling alive, whatever your ability.
Stewart Kellett, British Cycling’s Director of Recreation and Partnerships said, “It is great that we are able to work with Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research this year to support their Bikeathon events and encourage more people to not only get on their bike in the first place, but also to continue cycling and have fun on their bike. The Bikeathon events always prove to be really popular and we’ll look forward to seeing lots of riders taking part in Sky Ride Local, Breeze and Ride Social rides to get them ready for the big day.”
British Cycling will be providing our amazing Bikeathon riders with expert tailored training content and will help us to promote London Bikeathon and Birmingham Bikeathon via their website, social media and email channels to their varied but cycling-mad audience!
Paul Morton, Sports Event Manager here at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research said that it “is so fantastic to have this seal of approval. They are THE governing body for cycling, and it says great things about our Bikeathons that they’re recommending them.”
We've still got places available for both the London and Birmingham Bikeathons and would love for you to join our team. All entrants this year will automatically receive a personalised fundraising page on sign up and will be sent one of our LLR cycling jerseys if they raise the £100 required to fund research nurses for two patients entering on to one of our clinical trials.
Sign up for the Bikeathon today to join our Unstoppable team and help make a real difference to the lives of blood cancer patients.
