Peter Crane and his wife Mary completed a Coast-to-Coast cycle with a difference, from the Atlantic Ocean near Arcachon to Narbonne Plage on the Mediterranean. They cycled over 400 miles in 9 days!
"In February 2009 I was diagnosed with CLL and have attended the wonderful Freeman Hospital in Newcastle ever since and to date (October 2010) have had no treatment, in fact the symptoms have disappeared and my blood count has returned to normal. When I was diagnosed, I looked everywhere for case studies and information to encourage me (and although the Freeman do make one think positively), I found very little so I hope my experience will encourage others and our donations might help make the difference.
We wanted to do something that would provide a challenge and raise funds for the charity. We have both just retired and given my good progress we decided to go for it."
