Following the blood cancer diagnosis of one of their colleagues, the Finance Lean team at the RBS head office in Edinburgh chose us as their charity of the year in January.

The team set a fundraising target of £5,000 planned a series of events and challenges across the year, including a World Cup event, raffles, runs, and much more! In the end they raised a fantastic £5,047.70 and the team are looking into having this amount matched by the bank.

Their activities culminated in The Big Ride in September during our Small Change, BIG Impact month. Together, various members of staff cycled the distance of Land's End to John O'Groats on stationary bikes kindly leant to the team by the Edinburgh Alpine Bikes store. Some of the guys were so competitive and cycled so fast that the stationary bikes actually started to move forward across the floor!

Last week I was delighted to head up to see the team and to be presented with the cheque for the money raised. It has been a pleasure working with them and the amazing amount they have raised will go a long way in helping us beat blood cancer.

Fantastic effort guys! Thank you so, so much for putting so much time and energy into helping beat blood cancer. Absolutely love the cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End on static bikes idea - how long did it take you?
