Our first ever eLearning course, “Introduction to Haemato-oncology Nursing” has been accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).

We are very excited to announce that our first ever eLearning course, “Introduction to Haemato-oncology Nursing” has been accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).

RCN accreditation is “the mark of quality and professionalism within the nursing sector”.The accreditation process involves an external peer review by experts in the nursing and education field, to make sure the programme in line with RCN values and is fit for practice.

We met all of the RCN’s strict criteria, which included demonstrating that an extensive development and evaluation plan was in place, that the content is based on the latest clinical evidence, and that the online course is accessible and user-friendly.

We have designed the course for new starters and ward nurses on the haematology ward, but anyone with an interest in this area can take part. It covers the basics of blood cells and blood cancers, signs and symptoms to look out for during treatment provision, the nurse’s role in managing emergency/non-emergency situations and the intricacies of holistic nursing care. The course offers flexible learning - so users can jump in and out of the course as they please, and is accessible on a smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer.
