On Sunday 27 July a team of twelve ladies from the VGC head office in Ruislip took on a muddy challenge, raising a fantastic £2,000 for the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Alice Dupree, Chantal Austin, Christy Townsend, Ciara Pryce, Fiona Dowling, Gemma Ellington, Julie Norris, Laura Edwards, Marilu Pittelli, Nirvana Murray and Shanelle Wells all staggered, ran, climbed, slid and struggled around the 5km muddy obstacle course in Shepherds Bush.
“It was a brilliant day with lots of mud and water splashing around. We are all very proud of completing the obstacle course, and everyone was smiling when we finished. We will all definitely do it again despite the muddy hard work and the busy laundry day afterwards,” said Chantal Austin, the team’s spokeswoman.
The team from VGC is looking forward to planning further charity fundraiser events later this year. So far they have raised £2,000. You can donate online at http://www.justgiving.com/teams/therhubarbs or by texting VGCG60 £INSERT AMOUNT to 70070. .
