Angela Baker, one of the original calendar girls who helped raise £3million for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research with the alternative WI calendar, tells us about a special afternoon at Buckingham Palace to celebrate 100 years of the Women's Institute.

Six very excited Calendar Girls were invited to go to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on the 2nd June to celebrate 100 years of the WI. We were also invited to be presented to the Royals and to have tea with them in the Royal Tent.

What a day!!

The weather could have been a little bit warmer and less windy for the 8000 WI Ladies who were all wearing their Sunday best and a few hats were seen to be blowing across the lawns!

We as Calendar Girls had a great reception for the WI Ladies who clapped and cheered us  -  it was fantastic! All the Royals were lovely to talk to and made us feel very special.

Another wonderful day to be remembered.
